With 9 miles of white sand beaches to explore, Desroches Island is a playground for every age. Enjoy countless island adventures with a wealth of activities available including kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sunset cruises, day excursions to Poivre and St Joseph, fishing and snorkelling. The island has at least 18 classified dive sites including the impressive Desroches Drop and at the resort’s Castaway Centre the experts there will be happy to help you choose from wall dives, tunnels, deep caves and swim throughs. There is also an excellent surf club where pros and novices alike can receive equipment and coaching.
On land, there is just as much to do, including the “Desroches Challenge” which is a 14km trek around the island, bicycle trails and free use of bikes, a petanque court and tennis court, beach volleyball and a fully equipped fitness centre which also offers personal training and pilates.
For something a bit more relaxing you could visit the Tortoise Sanctuary, join a yoga class, take a cocktail making or cooking class, enjoy an afternoon of rum tasting, or spend an evening under the stars on a private stargazing experience accompanied by champagne and nibbles and an experienced astronomer. Of course, for the ultimate relaxation, a visit to the beautiful wellness spa is a must. For the kids, there is also an excellent children’s club and dedicated kids program.
